10 New Israeli Startups, Hear Them Roar

This post takes a look at 10 Israeli startups funded in the last year. The descriptions of the startups are self reported.

1) Caftor (button in Hebrew)
Caftor is two things:
1) a platform for connecting the real world with the social network. It allows you to easily create Quick Response codes (QR codes) to represent nouns and verbs in the social network. With Caftor you can easily tag objects, products and signs to give an appealing social dimension to your company and services.
2) A DIY platform for creating Facebook apps. Caftor allows you to easily create your own Facebook application, instantly, without programmers, servers or headaches. You completely own the data and the users and you save valuable time and resources.

2) HitPad
Hitpad is a quick and easy way to see what’s going on today and stay current using a fun-to-use and engaging iPad application.
Hitpad distills the most popular content and presents users with the most important topics of the day, highlighting why they are important and may be of interest, and presents this information in a way that’s easily consumed by the user.

Gizmodo: "Hitpad is your explainer for all things going on in the world, or well all things going on in the world according to the Internet. It is a really fun and engaging way to keep up with what's going on."

3) SiteBlackBox
SiteBlackBox is a provider of SaaS tools that monitor, secure and improve the points of touch between web applications and their users. SiteBlackBox launched its first service at the end of 2010. BotBlackBox monitors websites’ traffic and tells apart, in real-time, humans from bots and users from abusers. It helps websites take active actions against competitors who operate bots to copy and replicate their content, or for competitive B.I.
Utilizing this service, the impossible was made a reality: Content which is fully available and accessible to the general public is kept secured from the very few who wish to use it against the business interests of its publishers.

Not just for airplanes:Intelligent bot recognition heuristics, effective against zero-day threats.

4) 3i-MIND

8) TvTak
TvTak is launching a new, one-of-a-kind iPhone App that makes every television interactive. TvTak is the fastest way to tell your friends what you’re watching on Facebook, Twitter or Email. It takes just a second – literally. All you need is an iPhone and regular TV. The TvTak advanced recognition technology does the rest.

Point at your TV with your iPhone, and you get the channel and the name of the show written automatically, a perfectly scaled, zoomed, and cropped picture of your TV display and the ability to add an icon with your mood; with one click, you can either post it instantly or add a personal comment.

9) Zibaba
Using Zibaba’s technology, retailers now have the ability to create a complete storefront inside Facebook which encompasses a full eCommerce solution within the Facebook environment. The added advantage of a Zibaba store is a social network affiliate program that is also housed within the Facebook environment, allowing affiliates to either create their own brand store and populate it with merchandise from every Zibaba merchant store or simply promote products from their choice of stores and merchandise. Additionally, marketing the shops will utilize all social sharing functionality such as sharing, recommending and group discounts, plus the option to market the store with the Facebook targeted advertising campaign manager.

10) Glamaxy (coming soon)
