Israeli VC Funds Struggled to Raise in 2009

The latest IVC report shows that Israeli VC funds were able to raise only $229 million in 2009, a staggering 72% less than $803 million raised in 2008 and the third lowest amount raised per annum in the last decade.

2009 First VC Investments in Israel Down 50 Percent

Terra Venture Partners, a $25 million fund made the most first investments in 2009 (6 deals) followed by Carmel, Giza, JVP, Magma, Pitango, Sequoia and TriVentures (another small fund with $25 million under management), who all made 5 first time investments.

08 Israeli high tech companies raised a total of $303 million in Q3, according to the latest report conducted by the IVC Research Center.

Israel Venture Capital Down 40% In Q2 2009

The IVC Research Center has released its Quarterly Survey today for the first half of 2009. According to the report, 122 Israeli companies raised $279 million from both local and foreign venture investors in the second quarter of 2009. The IVC research center has released the Summary of Israeli High-Tech Company Capital Raising for Q1 2009. $265 million were raised by start ups in the first quarter of 2009 from both local and foreign funds.
