S&P Israel: thank you for the book!

I had a pleasant surprise waiting for me on Friday afternoon; a package from Israel, sent by Standard and Poor’s. The S&P Israel team sent me the 12th edition of the Directory of Israeli Public Companies (equities traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange or in Europe or the US) and Financial Institutions. It came with the following note from the publisher:

The book is a great resource that will come in handy for me when writing my posts on Israeli companies going public and VCs exiting their investments. In addition to listing all public Israeli companies, it also contains background information on current conditions in the Israeli market and a discussion on the developments at Nasdaq, NYSE, and the European stock exchanges.
S&P’s overview of the Israeli market is a testament to the opportunities VC firms have in ultimately taking Israeli start ups public:
Israeli securities have been of increasing interest to investors worldwide, reflecting globalization of the capital markets and many company success stories. The strong relative performance of Israeli stock in recent years has also contributed to the growing interest in the Israeli market.
