Israeli Startup Outbrain Raises $35 Million to Rule the Recommendations Space

In a world that suffers from content overload, personal recommendations are a bare necessity. Israeli startup Outbrain, one of the leading companies in the recommendations space, has completed a $35 million in Series D led by Index Ventures and joined by previous investors Carmel Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners. This brings Outbrain’s funding to $64 million total since its inception in 2007.

Israeli Startup Wanova Raises $10 million in Series B

Wanova, the Israeli corporate cloud services provider, has announced the completion of its round B financing totaling $10 million. The round was led entirely by previous backers: the Israeli offices of Greylock Partners and Carmel Ventures, as well as US fund Opus Capital.

Facebook surprised with its first acquisition in Israel today, with the announcement that it is buying Israeli startup Snaptu (previously known as Moblica) for an estimated $60-70 million. Israeli startup Oversi has announced a series C round of $4.9 million investment round led by Carmel ventures and joined by Cisco, Smac partners and StageOne ventures. Oversi offers a multi-service platform for over-the-top (OTT) content, including Internet video, peer-to-peer (P2P) and other media applications.
