Last week we published the latest Israeli Generative AI startup landscape in Calcalist. We mapped 342 GenAI startups that collectively raised over $20 billion. To be included in the landscape, startups had to meet two core criteria: raise at least $1 million in funding and have a product or service where generative AI is central to the value proposition.
Our new map included 198 new startups, of which over half (104) claim to offer Agentic AI capabilities, autonomous or semi-autonomous agents capable of decision-making, task execution, and full workflow management in enterprise environments. But growth is not only in quantity, it’s also in the level of ambition.
For the first time, we’ve also included an M&A section, which captured over 31 acquisitions of Israeli generative AI startups in the past year, fetching over $6.1 billion in value (only across 17 disclosed transactions).
At Remagine Ventures made our first investment in GenAI in August 2019 and have made a total of 13 generative AI investments since then, from infrastructure (in stealth) to consumer AI.
We’re excited to continue to back the strong Israeli talent levering this transformative technology. You can get more context on our conviction and what it takes to win in our recent post on the evolution of the Israeli GenAI landscape. You can find a high resolution copy on our website.
NEW INVESTMENTS ?
We’ve made two new commitments to Israeli startups since our last update! While the companies are in stealth, we’re excited to share more about these startups very soon. Both companies are GenAI powered – one in the consumer space and the other in enterprise automation.
