Shervin Pishevar, partner at Menlo Ventures: Shaker is going to touch and transform human connection and entertainment worldwide.”

It seems like yesterday that Israeli startup Shaker won Techcrunch disrupt, and today the company is announcing a $15 million round led by Menlo Ventures. Other investors include Innovation Endeavors (Dror Berman), Troy Carter and Rami Beracha from Pitango as well as CrunchFund who was already an investor in Shaker. This brings the company funding to $18 million to date.

Shaker is a Facebook app that enables social interaction between users in a virtual bar. It’s a little bit like Chat Roulette meets Sim City of sorts.  Shaker’s R&D is based in Israel, but the company recently opened a San Francisco office.
