Waze Raises $30M to Expand into China

Waze, the social GPS and traffic app, has raised a fresh $30 million from Li Ka-shing’s Horizon Ventures, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers’ iFund and Digital Growth Fund. This brings their total funding to over $57 million. Waze is headquartered in Israel but has another main office in Palo Alto.

Disrupt Winner Shaker Raises $15 Million Series A

It seems like yesterday that Israeli startup Shaker won Techcrunch disrupt, and today the company is announcing a $15 million round led by Menlo Ventures. Other investors include Innovation Endeavors (Dror Berman), Troy Carter and Rami Beracha from Pitango as well as CrunchFund who was already an investor in Shaker.

Eyeview Raises $1 Million Round from Innovation Endeavors

In 2008, we covered the story of EyeView on VC Cafe. Three friends won the Harvard Business School business plan competition, carried on with the venture to raise money from respectable VCs in Israel and land clients like Yahoo and eBay. But since then, very little was heard about the company until now. Beet.tv reported that Innovation Endeavors, the VC fund led by Google’s chairman Eric Schmidt, has invested an additional $1 million in Eyeview, bringing the total investment in the company to $6 million to date from Gemini and Lightspeed ventures.

This is a cool little deal that flew under the radar – Stergen, an Israeli startup developing technology to convert 2D TV broadcasting into 3D images, announced a $1.86 million round led by VIZRT, a Norwegian corporation.
