Decline in Private Equity Deals in Israel for Q1 2011

IVC Research Center has released the Quarterly Survey of Israeli Private Equity Deals for Q1 2011. Eleven private equity deals in Q1 2011, amounted at $216 million, a 68% decrease from the $668 million in Q1 last year, and a 74% decline from the previous quarter ($826 million)

Most Active VC Funds in Israel 2010

With six first investment deals Evergreen Venture Partners was the most active VC fund in Israel in 2010, according to the latest IVC Research Center report. The second place was shared by Battery Ventures Israel and Pontifax, with five investments each.

IVC PE Survey: Private Equity Deals Booming in Israel

Israeli Private Equity is experiencing some serious growth, according to the IVC-GKH Quarterly Private Equity (PE) Survey conducted by IVC Research Center. Private Equity is relatively less developed than VC in Israel but with deep pockets. There are 27 active private equity funds operate in Israel, with total managed capital standing at $6 billion in 2010.

The amount raised was similar to $343 million raised by 104 companies in the previous quarter, and 13 percent above $303 million raised by 108 companies in the third quarter of 2009.

IVC Report Q2 2010: Seeds of Recovery in Venture Capital Funding

The summary of high tech capital raising in Q2 is out, and the IVC Research Center confirm what we’ve already knew – capital raising in Israel is showing seeds of recovery (see VC Cafe’s post “Crisis Shmisis”) with $343 million raised in 104 deals, representing an increase of 47% from the previous quarter. Life sciences continue to lead capital raising, attracting $109 million, and Israeli VC investments are a much smaller slice of the pie.
