Last week I had the pleasure to attend the DLD 2011 (Digital Life Design) conference in Munich, which was co-hosted by Dr Yossi Vardi and Burda Media, a large German media company (for those who don't know). I've attended quite a few conferences and industry events, but DLD manage to stand out. What was so special about it?
Wibiya, the two year old on-site social toolbar provider (held by parent company Modular Patterns), has announced it is launching a developer platform and an open API which will enable third party applications on the Wibiya toolbar. It is approaching the reach of Conduit, the successful Israeli startup providing customized downloadable toolbars, which works with 250,000 publishers and 170 million users - except that it took the latter ten years to get there....
Interesting addition from the Wibiya team came through my inbox today. Wibiya , the customizable web toolbar for publishers added a monetization widget through affiliate links provided by Kehalim, a contextual affiliate platform based in Israel.
Tel Aviv-based Wibiya, which offers a free customizable tool bar to web publishers, is intent on bringing together all value-adding services to help publishers improve the user experience on offer.
