Ybrant Media, an large Indian Media portfolio of companies, has acquired Israeli startup PicApp for an undisclosed amount. This is Ybrant Media's second acquisition in Israel. The company has previously bought Advertising startup Oridian in 2007.

With six first investment deals Evergreen Venture Partners was the most active VC fund in Israel in 2010, according to the latest IVC Research Center report. The second place was shared by Battery Ventures Israel and Pontifax, with five investments each.

The Gifts Project, a social commerce platform, has been making quite a few headlines recently. The company raised $1 million in seed from Gemini and a few days later, European VC Index Ventures was mysteriously added to its investors page. The terms of the additional funding were not disclosed.
